Of course there is, but I don’t see how this changes anything in the possible narrative. It’s been since the time when we figured out the Long Tail that we’ve seen how to include extreme differences into algorithmic control.
The only “error” is to continue to think in terms of opposites. There is no “poor nomads” and “bubble residentials”. There is a continuous gradient of algorithmic control, in which there some thresholds also exist.
And the problem is not even in the fact that they exist, it’s in the fact that you can’t see them, or have any control of them, or participate in any way to influencing them.
The problem is in perception and in complete power asymmetry.
